Diversity/Careers releases Best Diversity Companies Readers' Choice survey results

Groundbreaking survey gauges readers' perceptions of companies' diversity strengths

SPRINGFIELD, NJ, June 27 - Renard Communications, publisher of Diversity/Careers in Engineering & Information Technology magazine and Diversity/Careers Online (www.diversitycareers.com), has released the results of its first-ever Best Diversity Companies Readers' Choice Survey.

More than 100 companies, from Aerojet to Weyerhaeuser, were recognized by readers for their support of minorities and women, their attention to work/life balance and their commitment to supplier diversity. All companies are listed in the magazine's June/July issue, mailed last week, and on its website, www.diversitycareers.com, updated today.

The survey asked Diversity/Careers readers and website visitors to rate the diversity strengths of corporations, government agencies and other organizations that employ technical professionals in the U.S. Readers took the survey on the Web.

"The companies listed here are all recognized by our readers as strong supporters of diversity. Our readers are the ones who know which companies support them best," said Diversity/Careers publisher and Renard Communications owner and president Roberta Renard, "and we are pleased to share their perceptions with the public."

Survey participants identified the company they associate most strongly with a number of diversity attributes. The results show which companies are doing the best job of supporting, and communicating with, the diverse technical community.

The survey was a departure from most current "Best company" lists because it relied on readers for input. "Most 'Best of.' lists work only with information that companies themselves provide, but our survey measures how well the companies are getting their message across," said Renard. "That's a big difference. Companies recognized in this survey really have something to brag about."
