Diversity/Careers launches Best Diversity Companies Readers' Choice survey

Groundbreaking survey will gauge readers' perceptions of companies' diversity strengths

SPRINGFIELD, NJ, MAY 2006 -- In early July, Renard Communications, publisher of Diversity/Careers in Engineering & Information Technology magazine and Diversity/Careers Online (www.diversitycareers.com), will launch its first-ever reader survey. The aim is to find out how Diversity/Careers readers and website visitors see the diversity strengths of corporations, government agencies and other organizations that employ technical professionals in the U.S.

Readers will take the survey on the Web, and results will be reported in the December 06/January 07 issue of Diversity/Careers. That's our first issue of 2007, and it will be a good way to launch the new year, said Diversity/Careers publisher and Renard Communications owner and president Roberta Renard.

Survey participants will be asked to identify the company (with 100 or more employees) they associate most strongly with a number of diversity attributes. The results will show which companies are doing the best job of supporting, and communicating with, the diverse technical community. The organizations that score highest with readers for their support of minorities and women, their attention to work/life balance and their commitment to supplier diversity will be cited when the survey results are reported.

The survey is a departure from most current Best company lists because it relies on readers for input. Most Best of' lists work only with information that companies themselves provide, but our survey will measure how well the companies are getting their message across, said Renard. That's a big difference. Companies that get a lot of reader votes' in this survey will really have something to brag about.
