At a spectacular dinner dance at the New York Hilton, the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC, www.nmsdc.org) presented John Barth, chair and CEO of Johnson Controls (Milwaukee, WI), with its 2006 leadership award for long-term achievements in minority business development. Other NMSDC members and their companies were also honored.
"Decades of commitment to the power of solid alliances between minority businesses and their corporate partners distinguish this year's honorees," says Harriet R. Michel, president of NMSDC.
NMSDC, through its network of thirty-nine affiliated regional councils, matches some 15,000 certified minority businesses with more than 3,500 corporate members that want to purchase their goods and services.
Diversity/Careers' exec VP Janet O. Penn and senior sales exec Gail Goldstein attended the event and brought back these photos.
